Messenger Run Rules
Race thru traffic, find the best route, and deliver the goods.
For each turn, follow the instructions on the maneuver card as explained below.
When ready, press the “start button” below.
1. The top of the card indicates collision points.
- On the first turn, skip the top of the card.
- If your last drawn segment overlaps any of the red highlighted points or segments you take a hit. Note the color of the car.
- If you take a hit, cross out the leftmost filled in star at the top. If no filled in stars remain you lose the game.
2. The bottom of the card shows a route segment.
- Draw a new extension of your route, following the shown pattern, starting from the last point drawn. On the first turn, start from the green dot on the right.
- You cannot diagonally cross a space with a vehicle.
- You may not draw on any obstacle boxes, indicated with red shading.
- If you diagonally cross a box with a star, fill in the leftmost empty star at the top.
- Once you trace over a segment of a green turn square, turn the map card 90º clockwise before continuing. Once the card has been turned once, it does not turn again.
- If your route touches the checked finish line the game ends and it’s time to count your score (see below).
3. Click the Next button and repeat steps again.
Scoring: Filled stars give Victory Point (VP).
Crossed out stars are not included in their score.
- 10+ VP = Maximum tip received. Someone’s getting a new bike!
- 7-9 VP = Adequate run, but you’ll need to improve to get the big tip!
- 5-8 VP = Barely made it. No tip for you!
- 4 or less VP = You lost your package and got a flat tire. What a lousy day!
